Seborrhea (or Seborrheic Dermatitis) is a chronic skin inflammation that causes redness, irritation, flaking, and oiliness, especially in areas with a high concentration of sebaceous glands — such as the face, scalp, sides of the nose, eyebrows, and behind the ears.
Causes of Damage:
- Overactivity of sebaceous (oil) glands
- Skin reaction to a natural fungus called Malassezia
- External factors such as stress, hormonal changes, diet, or weather conditions
Symptoms:
- Often worsens in winter, under stress, or with lack of sleep
- White or yellowish flakes (similar to dandruff)
